Because everything in the Villa des Anges already has its own experience, the restaurant area is no exception to this rule. This is even the room in which you will find our most beautiful pieces, starting with the bar which was previously installed in the former restaurant of Madame Sylvie Papo, owner of the hotel, in Paris in the Marais. You can, moreover, discover the little history of the establishment “The piano on the sidewalk” by consulting the page dedicated to the history of our hotel in St Maxime. The same goes for the paintings that decorate the walls of our Sainte Maxime restaurant, all of which have traveled a lot. We brought several of them back from the old restaurant. We also traveled far and wide to look for other works: the painting installed above the kitchen pantry, for example, comes from Israel. “I work on impulse, we also hunted at flea markets in Paris, especially for mirrors. We also find a Spanish style painting from my grandmother’s house, my grandfather’s boat and furniture made by my grandfather who was a cabinetmaker”, explains the owner of the place to present this atypical place in the Villa des Anges . At the back of this interior space, we find the fireplace with its particular decoration inspired by a postcard from Mexico. “I saw this card and wanted the same thing and the same color. We experimented with colors and spices, but the decorators couldn’t find the yellow I wanted. I then brought them some curry and saffron to show them the yellow I wanted in the hall. After so much research and testing, we ended up finding this mix of yellow and red with a bit of a pastel trend, a Spanish hacienda style lime paint,” says Madame Sylvie. Everything in the restaurant part of our hotel in Sainte Maxime has been designed and made to measure, even the wrought iron of its door.
